How do I secure a place on course?
Please contact Mike via email to confirm your interest in course and your current qualifications. Cost for the course is €500 with a €175 euro deposit required to secure your place. We will send you on details of IBAN and BIC to pay deposit and final payment is due the week of course. Places are secured on a first come/ first served basis as and when deposits are received. Receipts will issue at course.
Will I need to attend a second course?
No this is a complete training course. On completion of course you will fully be equipped to treat all areas of the body and the majority of clinical presentations. There is no requirement to attend a 2nd course!
Who is eligible to attend course?
Pre-qualifications for course will be checked with you in advance of booking your place. Course has been attended by and is suitable for Doctors, Nurses, Anaesthetists, Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Physical Therapists. Sports Therapists, Acupuncturists. Neuromuscular Therapists, Physical Therapists, Athletic Rehabilitators. Podiatrists have also attended bespoke course focused on lower limb needing
How do I arrange insurance to practice Dry Needling once I have completed the course? Is insurance required to attend the course?
I am fully insured as a training school / lecturer via Balen’s to train practitioners in Dry Needling so there is no insurance required to attend the course.
In advance of attendance, it is essential that potential attendees clarify insurance arrangements to utilise dry needling post completion of course with their insurance provider / broker. Large insurance companies provide cover on production of certification. Occasionally you will need to provide a consent form to your insurer, and this will be included in the course pack. If your insurer has any specific queries, please contact me.
Will all areas of the body be covered?
Dry Needling Course has been honed over 20 years to cover all areas of the body and during the course there is time available to cover all major joints, i.e. shoulder, elbow, wrist, ankle, knee, hip. We also cover spinal points, neck, thoracic, lumber spine and some facial points incorporating in excess of fifty muscles. The course content allows you to treat a whole range of issues additional to trigger points - Electrotherapy & Tendinopathy is incorporated.
Where is venue for course? Do you run courses outside of Dublin?
Course is held in my clinic in Dun Laoghaire town centre which is easily accessible by public transport with a number of treatment rooms for theoretical and practical tutoring. I can facilitate off site training courses for bespoke groups on request and with pricing agreed in advance.
How Long is the Course?
Course runs over 3 days, Registration from midday Friday and then course runs all day Saturday and Sunday.
Is there any preparatory reading requires for course?
No preparatory or pre reading required for course. There is a comprehensive reading pack provided at course for post course reading/reference and CPD reading hours.
Does course qualify for CPD hours and does course meet ISCP guidelines / requirements?
Yes – 21 hours for course attendance and CPD reading hours thereafter. Yes - fully meets ISCP guidelines
What do I need to bring to the course. What should I wear attending course?
Nothing bar a pen! All equipment - needles, machines, plinths etc are supplied on the course. For practical elements of weekend lose comfortable clothing recommended, shorts are good for the lower limb needling practical training sessions.
What practical items are required to commence Dry Needling?
Insurance is key. A supplier attends course and you have the opportunity to pick up all the necessary materials, needles, electro acupuncture machines etc. These are sold at very competitive package price. You are certainly not obliged to pick these up on the day and you may want to shop around.
How is the course duration split to cover theoretical and practical learning?
Course has been structured with mix of theoretical and practical learning. Numbers are limited to ensure sufficient observation and assessment. Significant emphasis and time spent on Health & Safety and contraindications.
